Jeremy
On December 10, 2024, our neighbor, Jeremy, was in a life-altering motorcycle accident that has restricted his ability to support himself for an undetermined length of time.
Jeremy is a 50-year-old man who has recently moved to the area to help his ailing aunt in Manor. Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after Jeremy arrived. Jeremy moved to Dripping Springs for a job opportunity and was working hard and supporting himself. Jeremy is an avid animal lover and rescued two dogs that now live with him and are the loves of his life.
On December 10, 2024, while driving through a traffic light on his motorcycle, Jeremy was T-boned by a car that threw him from his motorcycle, across the hood of the vehicle, and several lanes of traffic. He sustained life-altering injuries that have changed his life forever. He had a concussion and brain injury that have affected his memory and some basic cognitive skills. Jeremy had dozens of cuts and bruises that took months to heal. The impact caused 5 herniated discs, severe back pain, and loss-limited use of his shoulder. To add insult to injury, during one of his MRI scans, doctors discovered that Jeremy's cancer that he once beat... had returned. Not only was Jeremy faced with healing from his injuries, but he now had the added burden of battling cancer...again.
During this time, Jeremy was unable to work and perform basic duties and tasks in both his job and his everyday living. He did his best to work when he could, but quickly fell behind on his bills. Rent, utilities, food, and caring for his three beloved dogs. Thanks to the immediate response and support of a few generous neighbors and a couple of local churches, Jeremy managed to keep a roof over his head shortly after his accident.
Jeremy quickly realized that he had a long road to recovery and extensive medical care ahead of him. After struggles with the insurance company, he sought out the representation and guidance of an attorney. Unfortunately, this attorney did not adequately represent Jeremy, his circumstances, or his future medical care. There is no question that the other driver was entirely at fault. She claimed responsibility, and her insurance offered a very unfair settlement. We are also actively seeking legal representation for Jeremy in his case.
Life for Jeremy now feels like an insurmountable mountain of debt, despair, and desperation. He has had an impeccable work ethic his entire life and is now left pleading for assistance from strangers in his community. He has sold his tools and anything of value he owned to stay afloat. Jeremy will lose his work truck THIS WEEK if he cannot come up with $525 for June payment and late fees. He is behind on his rent, utilities and is struggling to provide basic needs such as food, hot water, and gas money. He is in need of ongoing medical care, physical therapy, and possible future surgeries.
As desperate as Jeremy is, one of his greatest concerns is caring for his beloved rescue dogs. He has lost the means and ability to provide adequate vet care, and also struggles to feed them.
Project Connect- Dripping Springs, along with Jeremy, is pleading for your support. Your donations will help Jeremy keep his vehicle which he needs to get to and from work and to doctors' appointments as needed. Your donations will allow Jeremy to catch up on his outstanding debts of rent, utilities, medical bills, and critical prescriptions waiting at the pharmacy. Your contribution, regardless of the amount, would be a beacon of light for Jeremy's future. Project Connect- Dripping Springs is a 501c3 non profit serving families in the Dripping Springs community. All donations will be managed through our organization, and all bills will be paid directly to providers, landlords, loan agencies, and medical providers. We understand the incredible challenges so many are facing in our world and our economy right now. Many of us are blessed to have the means to help our neighbors with a hand up. Please consider helping our neighbor Jeremy get back on his feet. He is eager to work and give back to his community.
